New banners are on display in the Tonawanda natatorium to acknowledge the accomplishments of Warriors swimmers in the fall.
Three banners have been added marking the championships won by four Warriors girls swimmers in the 2021 season. One honors the THS championship in the 200 medley relay event at the ECIC Division III meet in October. Tonawanda won with a time of 2:12.93. Sophomore Mya Ohar led off the relay in the backstroke, senior Kayla Tonaus swam the second leg in the breaststroke, junior Lizzie Sirgey swam the butterfly, and senior Jenna Boyd anchored the relay in the freestyle.
Two more banners honor swimmer Lizzie Sirgey, one for her victory in the 100 butterfly in 1:07.27 at the Section VI Girls Class C Championship. Another marks her wins at the ECIC Girls Division III Championship meet Oct. 23 at Maryvale, where she took first in both the 100 fly in 1:07.67 and the 200 individual medley in 2:33.39.
