The Erie County Association of School Boards has presented a Shining Star Award to Kristin Schmutzler, a member of the Tonawanda City School District Board of Education.
ECASB recognizes and honors the efforts of members engaged in school board service through its annual “Shine On!” awards, which include recognition for Rising Stars, Shining Stars, and Medallion Club. At the Tonawanda CSD Board of Education meeting on Oct. 11, Superintendent of Schools Timothy Oldenburg thanked Schmutzler for representing the district and the board.
A Tonawanda CSD board member since 2017, Schmutzler received the award at ECSAB's 43rd annual dinner held on Oct. 7 at Salvatore’s.
The Erie County Association of School Boards was established in 1930 and serves its member boards through development activities, training, advocacy, and resource materials. ECASB also works to advance the mutual objectives of other organizations dedicated to public education.
