The Tonawanda Community enjoyed an evening of fun and family bonding this week, at AIS Family Fun Night – Camp Timberwolf at Tonawanda Elementary School.
This special event was designed to support Literacy, Math, and our English Language Learners, providing fun, accessible ways for families to engage with their children's learning and growth.
Families took part in camping-themed activities that included Sort and Count, Number Recognition Roll and Cover, Addition Game, Reading -Math Problem Solving Bingo, Number Bump, STEAM Tent Building, Family Yoga, Tonawanda Public Library Sign-ups and Button Making, Family Mad Libs, Family Reading and Bookmark Making.
There were also opportunities for families to snap a picture at the campground-themed selfie station, get camping tattoos, enjoy "smores", and meet with the staff from our Family Support Center.
Every student walked away with a new book, quality time spent with family, and a strong reminder that families need schools, and schools need families.
A special thanks to all of our staff who made this night possible, the Tonawanda High School student volunteers and all of the families who attended and supported Camp Timberwolf.
