For over 25 years, Tonawanda City School District has been fortunate to have Tina (Christina) Merritt working with our youngest learners, getting them on the right path with reading.
She joined the district after spending six years working in a school in the Finger Lakes region. Merritt now works at Tonawanda Elementary School as a Reading Specialist. She works with kindergarten, first-grade, and second-grade students to master grade-appropriate phonics and sight words. She also facilitates team meetings that focus on how the school can provide more support to our students.
Merritt's dedication to the students and their reading journey is unmatched, and she works hard every day to encourage and inspire her students to become lifelong readers.
