students compete in tech wars

It was a successful run at this year's annual NCCC Tech Wars, as Tonawanda High School students placed second overall.

Tonawanda took first and third place in the premiere Tech Wars event using VEX robots. Tonawanda rarely enters this event because it requires coding and some higher-level mechanisms. Entering with some newer level robots, this is the first time the students have placed in this category!

The team of Aly Bell and Jaxon Rodriguez took first place out of 42 teams and over 10 schools.

The team of Matt Sherry and Josh Smith placed third.

Tonawanda students also placed in the following categories:

Capture the Flag robot event:

First Place: Braiden Forsha/Anthony D'Amico

Third Place: Kyle Klimkiewicz/Jasper Vara

King of the Hill robot event:

Second Place: Zander Ashby/Matt Siminski

Onsite Problem Solving (move a ping ball w/o touching through a maze):

Fourth Place:  Jackson Shepler/Marian Shepler/Vincent Shepler

Cardboard Chair Design

Fourth Place: Nick Graf

Great job to all!
