As many in the community know, there is a strong sense of pride among Tonawanda alumni that draws many graduates back to the district to work and serve their community. One such graduate is Tonawanda High School Special Education teacher Janine Warthling.
Twenty years ago, Warthling began in the district as a teaching assistant and later transitioned into a long-term substitute position in the Middle School Life Skills classroom.
Now, she works with the ninth and tenth graders in the Living Environment class while also supporting tenth-grade students in integrated classes. She works closely with other educators to enhance the overall learning experience.
In the words of Tonawanda High School Principal Lyndsey Todaro: “Janine approaches each student with empathy, taking the time to understand their individual needs and strengths. Her personalized attention helps build trust and confidence.”
Join us in thanking and congratulating Warthling for her decades of commitment to the students and staff of the district.
