The Tonawanda National Honor Society hosted their annual Christmas for Kids celebration at the high school over the weekend. With the support of donations from local businesses and the school community, gift packages were provided to over 80 elementary school students in need of additional support this season.
All the gifts were wrapped by high school student volunteers ahead of time, with some students learning how to wrap for the first time.
Teachers and high school students volunteered on the day of the event, helping to guide elementary attendees through the numerous activities. In the gym, students had the opportunity to paint, decorate, and assemble various crafts. There were also several game stations available, including Holiday Hole-in-One, Pin the Nose on the Rudolph, Jingle Bell Toss, and Holiday Hustle.
In the cafeteria, children were able to dig into some breakfast goodies and decorate cut-out cookies made by Tonawanda CSD's very own BOCES baking students.
