Dear Parents/Caregivers of High School students,
As the school year starts to come to a close, we want to provide you with information regarding exams in June. The last day of classes for high school students is June 13th, 2024. From Friday, June 14th through Tuesday, June 25th, 2024 we will be having Regents exams. The Juneteenth Holiday will be observed on Wednesday, June 19th. There is no make-up day for missing a Regents exam, therefore, it is important for students to attend the day their exam is being administered.
Exam Times
Students taking a morning exam will need to arrive at school by 7:50 am and report to the high school cafeteria. At promptly 8:00 am, students will be admitted into the exam location. Teachers will provide students with testing directions and materials.
Students scheduled to take an afternoon exam will need to arrive at school by 11:45 am and report to the high school cafeteria. At 12:00 pm, students will be admitted into the exam location and teachers will provide students with testing directions and materials.
Meals
Breakfast and lunch will be offered each exam day.
All meals will be served through the middle school.
Transportation
For those students who take the bus to school, buses will run as usual to and from school.
There will be a midday bus run as well to bring students to and from school if they only have one exam that day.
Exam Etiquette & Reminders
No cell phones or electronic devices- Each student will check in their cell phone and any additional electronic devices (Apple watches, tablets, etc.) before sitting in their assigned seat for each exam. All electronic devices should be turned off.
No food or drink allowed during exams EXCEPT water!
REMEMBER to bring sharpened pencils and pens to each exam.
During exams, all school rules outlined in the Code of Conduct must be followed.
Your child has three hours from the start of the exam (unless you have accommodations per IEP or 504). If they show up late, they do not have extra time.
They cannot leave and return to the exam. Once they begin, the only break they are able to get is a restroom break.
There is a required “sit time” for each exam. They cannot leave before that time.
If they arrive late and past the 1 and 1/2-hour mark, they will not be allowed in.
If they miss a Regents exam, they will have to take it the next time it is offered (June, August). There are no make-ups given and they will receive a zero.
