Tonawanda High School students took second place in a video competition at NCCC’s Tech Wars competition. Fourteen students teamed up to create “Our Town: 5 Things that Make WNY Great.” You can view the video on YouTube.
Inspired by the late Hank Chlebowski’s song, “Buffalo People,” the students researched 10 of the best places in Western New York. Due to the rules of the video, they had to pick six things: the Bills, the Sabres, chicken wings, Delaware Park, Roswell Park and UB.
The group, led by Zoe Oliver, Baylin Tighe, Devin Galleciez and D’Era Jefferson, did the entire project on their own, under the supervision of Mr. Shawn Lodovico. Their duties included research, writing of the script, seeking permission to enter KeyBank Arena and the other venues, and recording and editing the video. Additional team members included Jake Lewis, Emily Jenkins, Trinity Oliver, Chloe Roetzer, Maddie Janowsky, Erin Charrois, Devon Licht, Mia Montague, Jordyn Gilbert and Makayla Bodine.
