Wellness and Mental Health Information and Resources
The Tonawanda City School District is committed to meeting and supporting the needs of ALL students, staff members, and families. We know that our wellness is directly linked to our ability to learn, achieve, and better engage with one another in everything we do. Our district has prioritized purposeful efforts to educate and provide resources to all stakeholders so that we can strive to be the best version of ourselves.
This webpage is designed to create a space that can support our work in this area. Please consider taking advantage of these opportunities to learn effective strategies to identify, recognize, and address areas of wellness and mental health that have an impact on all of us.
Resources shared at our current workshops:
Workshop 1: Stress Management, Wellness and Mindfulness Practices
Workshop 2: Mental Health and Well Being
Wellness Committee
The City of Tonawanda's District Wellness Committee is responsible for assessing current activities, programs, and policies available in the District that promote and protect student health and well-being. It recommends district goals relating to nutrition education, physical activity, and other school-based activities.
The committee consists of parents, students, teachers, employees from the District's Food Service Program, the Board of Education, school administrators, and community members.
If you are interested in being a member of this committee, please email Jared Northrup, Wellness Committee chair and Director of Athletics, Physical Education & Health.
