Congratulations!

When it comes to teachers making an impact at all grade levels in our district, High School Choral Music Teacher and K-12 music department chair Amanda Urbaniak has been leading the way for the last 25 years.

Urbaniak began her career in Tonawanda right out of college as the elementary general music/choral music teacher. Since then, she has taught music in every building and at every grade level in our district.

In 2012, she moved to the Middle/High School where she currently teaches two vocal ensembles, the high school life skills class and music theory.

Urbaniak says that while the teaching profession and music education have evolved over the years, her love of choral music and singing with the students remains unchanged. She says she has seen music education change our young people for the better. Inside her classroom, there is a focus on inclusivity and mutual respect, which helps her students develop confidence and make connections.

In the words of THS Principal, Lyndsey Todaro, “Amanda Urbaniak is a master of her craft! She leads her students to reach their potential in music and beyond each and every day!”

Thank you, Amanda Urbaniak, for your unwavering commitment to making the TCSD schools a brighter place for the students of the district.
