June 1, 2023 Dear Parents and Guardians of Chorus and Band Students, Please be advised that the air conditioning in the high school has broken down. We are working to get it fixed but do not want to disappoint the students who have worked so hard to perform. We will put fans in the auditorium. Please have your children dress for the weather. The May 16 vote results are in: The 2023-2024 proposed budget has been APPROVED by voters. Thank you to all who participated in this year's vote. We appreciate your support! Total Ballots: 531 Proposition 1: Budget ($41,976,098) YES -- 368 (PASS) NO -- 153 Proposition 2: Sale of Mullen YES--416 (PASS) NO -- 112 BOARD OF EDUCATION (3 seats available: 2 Three-year term beginning July 1, 2023, 1 One-year term beginning July 1, 2023) Kristin Schmutzler -- 408 Votes Linsey Neal -- 360 Votes Jeff Thorp -- 358 Votes Eighteen (18) write-ins earned between 8 and 1 vote.

Last evening the BOE approved an amended calendar for the remainder of the academic school year. The Memorial Day Holiday will be observed on Friday, May 26 AND Monday, May 29. The last day of student attendance for grades UPK through 5 will be Friday, June 16. Our staff will begin efforts to close Mullen and Riverview Elementary Schools and transition into the new Tonawanda Elementary School during the week of June 19. The Board of Education on March 15 voted to adopt an Instructional Calendar for 2023-2024 and to accept an offer from Child and Family Services to purchase Mullen Elementary School for $850,000. We are excited to welcome our pre-K and kindergarten students this year! We will be holding orientation events on Friday, Aug. 27 for interested families. Pre-K Orientation will be from 9 - 10:30 a.m. for students who are registered in the morning session and 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. for students who are registered in the afternoon session. Our Kindergarten Orientation will take place on the same day from 9:30 - 11:30 a.m. More info about these events will be sent to families.
