Elementary Students Decorate Bags for Food Giveaway this Thanksgiving
Elementary students at Mullen, Riverview and Fletcher schools collaborated with the local Salvation Army, Tops Supermarkets and the Microsoft store at the Galleria Mall to creatively decorate bags for food distribution this Thanksgiving. The Microsoft store offered the students a small incentive to help out their community by decorating the bags which will hold the donated items.
Teachers and students jumped at the chance to help others and they created over 200 festively-decorated bags which were brought to the Salvation Army on Broad Street. The bags were donated by the local Tops Supermarkets.
We are sure that the art will add a heart-felt touch to the donation bags. Tonawanda students are looking forward to continuing our partnership with Tops, the Microsoft store, and the Salvation Army. Pictured are third-grade students from Mrs. Barnum's Class at Mullen.
