November is already upon us and it’s a very busy month. The end of daylight savings time on the 6th, Election Day/Staff Development on the 8th (no school), 1st marking period ends on the 9th, Turkey Trot on the 10th, Veterans Day on the 11th (school holiday), parent/teacher conferences on the 22nd in the evening and 23rd all day (no school). This is all followed by the long Thanksgiving weekend beginning the 24th.
Mullen Elementary faculty and staff continue to work toward building The 7 Habits of Healthy Kids as well as a whole school initiative to improve student’s awareness of how to properly greet people appropriately. Lighthouse committee has met and chose children in leadership jobs including: Morning Greeters, Pledge of Allegiance, Assembly Leader, Assembly Greeter, Shout Outs, Recycling, Birthdays, and Cafeteria Helper. These roles were announced at our monthly assembly on October 21st along with 28 students who were the Habit 1, Be Proactive, classroom winners of the month.
Have a happy and healthy November.
